The Texas YR Compact
A Framework for Unity, Integrity, and Victory in the Texas Young Republicans Federation
Preamble
The Texas Young Republicans Federation (TYRF) is a cornerstone of the conservative movement in Texas - training the next generation of Republican leaders, advancing the principles of liberty and limited government, and working to elect Republicans at every level.
Yet in recent years, internal division, personal disputes, and resource-draining distractions have threatened our ability to fulfill that mission. Our chapters are strongest when they are united, our members are most effective when they are focused, and our Federation is most respected when it acts with integrity.
In the interest of rebuilding trust, restoring purpose, and positioning TYRF for victory in 2026 and beyond, we, the undersigned leaders of TYRF, commit to the principles and actions outlined in this Compact.
I. Principles of Conduct
Respect First, Always
Treat fellow members, officers, and chapters with civility, regardless of political or personal differences.
Disagree without personal attacks, insults, or divisive rhetoric.
Mission Over Ego
Place TYRF’s success above personal ambition, factional loyalty, or outside political agendas.
Support decisions that advance our shared goals, even when they are not our first preference.
Transparency and Accountability
Commit to honest communication with members, chapters, and the public.
Support transparent financial reporting and open access to bylaws, meeting minutes, and governing documents.
II. Organizational Commitments
End Internal Litigation
Work toward the swift, fair, and final resolution of the TYRF v. Chad Cohen lawsuit.
Commit to resolving future disputes through mediation, arbitration, or other professional methods before resorting to legal action.
Restore Partnership with the Republican Party of Texas
Engage in good-faith negotiations with the RPT to regain formal partnership status.
Actively participate in coordinated efforts to elect Republican candidates statewide.
Strengthen Chapter Support
Provide resources, training, and mentorship for local chapters to grow membership and impact.
Respect chapter autonomy while ensuring compliance with TYRF bylaws and the Compact.
Focus on Elections and Leadership Development
Direct resources, time, and manpower toward winning targeted races in 2026.
Create programs to recruit, train, and mentor future Republican candidates, campaign staff, and grassroots leaders.
III. Culture of Unity
Internal Disagreements Stay Internal
Avoid airing disputes in public forums that damage TYRF’s reputation.
Use internal channels and respectful dialogue to address concerns.
Inclusive Engagement
Encourage participation from every member and chapter, regardless of past factional alignments.
Make TYRF a space where all conservatives - young, old, urban, rural - feel welcome.
Shared Responsibility for Success
Recognize that TYRF’s victories belong to all of us - and so do its failures.
Support each other publicly, even when we debate privately.
IV. Implementation and Accountability
Public Commitment
Each member of the TYRF Executive Committee and each Chapter President will sign this Compact publicly.
The signed Compact will be posted on TYRF’s official website for member visibility.
Review and Renewal
The Compact will be reviewed at each biennial TYRF Convention, with an opportunity for amendments or reaffirmation.
Accountability Measures
Members who consistently violate the Compact’s principles may be subject to internal censure or other remedies as determined by the Executive Committee and bylaws.
Conclusion
We believe the Texas Young Republicans Federation is at its best when united in purpose, disciplined in action, and committed to winning elections. By signing this Compact, we pledge to rise above division, act with integrity, and keep our eyes on the mission ahead.
Together, we can restore unity, rebuild trust, and secure victory for Texas Republicans in 2026 and beyond.
